Reporting Absence or Early Dismissals

1. Parents/guardians are to email the attendance office the evening before or before 1st period on the day the student will be absent, late or leaving early.
Please include:
• Full name of student
• Grade of student
• Date of absence
• Reason for absence
• Name of parent/guardian
• Phone number

Parents/guardians will receive an automated call informing them of an absence, late arrival, or early dismissal. A return the call is not necessary unless there is a discrepancy.

Returning to School from an Absence

An email to the HS attendance office is a form of a written excuse. If an email is not provided, please send a written note within three (3) school days and include: 

• Full name of student
• Grade of student
• Date of absence 
• Reason for absence
• Name of parent/guardian
• Phone number

Attendance Guidelines

Absences
• Families have up to three (3) days to email or turn in a note or the absence will be considered unlawful/unexcused.
• Students who are absent for three (3) or more consecutive days will need a medical note for the absence to be considered excused.
• Students who are absent from school for ten (10) or more total days in a school year will need medical notes for any additional absences to be considered unexcused.

Excused Lateness/Early Dismissal
• Students are permitted five (5) excused lates per semester with a parent/guardian note.
• Students are permitted five (5) early dismissals per semester with a parent/guardian note.

Non-school Sponsored & Family Travel Form

Absence due to family vacation: Please fill out the Non-school Sponsored Travel Form. This form must be submitted and approved at least 5 days prior to the absence. To translate this form, right click in the purple area of the form and select "Translate to" and select your desired language.
