Service Clubs

PAHS prides itself on the many service clubs that are offered.  Not only do students get involved in our Phoenixville community they also have the opportunity to reach out world-wide.

American Red Cross Club
The American Red Cross Club works to prevent and alleviate human suffering by turning compassion into action. Our goals include providing aid and support to families, communities, and service members. We frequently organize various volunteer opportunities, blood drives, and fundraisers to assist our cause in helping those in need. The club meets bi-weekly in the morning in room J14.

Best Buddies
Best Buddies is an International Organization to which we pay yearly dues. Regular education students are paired with a buddy with an Intellectual Disability. We do Spread the Word to End the Word and Special Olympics yearly. As well as many other events. I wasn't positive as to what is classified as a service project/ competition to meet the criteria of each tier.

Environmental Club
The Environmental Club is a service-oriented club that has been in motion for the past ten years. We are committed to empowering Phoenixville students to make our school and community more sustainable. Potential club projects for this year include helping out at a community garden, starting composting at the high school, and cleaning up around campus, among other things. With your help, we can make a huge difference in our school and community!

Mini-THON
The students at Phoenixville Area High School spend 12 hours on their feet through the night to benefit Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, Hershey, PA.  The PHX “Mini-THON” is based on the Penn State Dance Marathon---the largest student-run philanthropy in the nation where dancers spend 46 hours awake and on their feet to raise money for pediatric cancer patients.  The mission of Four Diamonds is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families, through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.  Phoenixville students organize, run, and fundraise for this event throughout the year. PHX Mini-THON is looking for committee members to serve and welcomes all to join us to dance the night F.T.K.—For The Kids.

Empower disadvantaged communities and families by providing them with essential necessities and support. This club dedicates its time and resources to volunteering, organizing clothing drives, and fundraising for underprivileged children and youth, subsequently donating the proceeds to local non-profit organizations. If you’d love to support your community, then this is the club for you! Club meetings are every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the cafeteria after school.

With events such as visiting the Veterans’ Center to spend time and play games with the veterans, Movie Night to raise money for families in need, and providing kids with the opportunity to build gingerbread houses and meet Santa in December, Platform for Service is a great way to get involved, have fun, and earn service credits.
