I just wanted to pass on a word of congratulations on behalf of the PHX Winter Guard: This past weekend, they were "promoted" to a new classification.
What in the world does this mean?
In the world of the "pageantry arts", groups are classified not by size of school but by overall skill set. They start in the Novice division, and it moves to Regional AA, Regional A, National AA, National A, Open, and World Class. Their promotion brought them up to the Regional "A" division.
They are "off" this weekend, but will be returning to competition in their new class on Feb 15th at an event at Marple Newtown HS, before their first ever appearance at the WGI (Winter Guard International) Northeast Regional in NJ on Feb 22nd.
