PAHS Summer trip to GermanyOver the summer months, PAHS students traveled to Germany.  Below is a summary of their awesome trip from teacher Tine Tavani.

We have had a wonderful visit in our partner school in the Southwest of Bavaria, the Jakob-Brucker-Gymnasium in Kaufbeuren.  Ten students traveled with two teachers for 16 days, during which time they went to school and attended classes with their host students, and went on several trips with the topic “common roots.”
  • We visited the town of Kaufbeuren and had a reception with the assistant mayor
  • We visited the city of Augsburg with the world's oldest social housing complex still in use. It is a walled enclave within the city and takes its name from the Fugger family and was founded in 1516.
  • We visited Munich and did a scavenger hunt type self-guided tour, and of course,
  • We visited Neuschwanstein Castle.  We had a new experience this year – a thunderstorm with super heavy rain – so we toured the fancy rooms while soaking wet!  But as a reward the pictures are full of ambiance!

Soon we welcome 20 students in our building – they will be here October 18-31.
