Students Visit Philadelphia Opera

A group of 15 performing arts students had the opportunity to visit the final dress rehearsal at the Opera Philadelphia as part of their Sounds of Learning program. We witnessed a production of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream in the orchestration of Benjamin Britten. Students were completely drawn in by the play: the singing, the acting, and especially the set and costume designs and the staging. And when it was over, time had flown by and all were surprised that it was three hours later, and they clapped so long that the entire cast came out for a complete second curtain call!
