NHS Day of Kindness

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. "Be Kind. Always.” Instantly when PAHS NHS’ officers met the lovely Skinner family we wanted to get involved and share the love, kindness, and power behind Noah’s story. In Noah’s memory, we as NHS wanted to bring Noah’s day of kindness to Phoenixville Area High School. Our goal started with wanting to bring awareness to the simple act of being kind, something people often forget.

On September 7th, to kick off our kindness initiative, members of NHS wore red in Noah’s honor to resemble the strength and power he and his story entails. That morning NHS made a poster asking students to sign and pledge to kindness not just today but every day. We hung it outside the cafeteria. In addition to signing the poster, NHS members wrote simple acts of kindness on index cards and hung them next to the poster for students to read and/or take and complete the action. For example actions such as thanking a janitor, complimenting a friend or helping your mom make dinner all help to bring much needed kindness into today’s world. As the week progressed more and more students signed our poster. NHS is forever grateful to have met such a wonderful family. Noah will live on in our lives forever and most importantly will remind us to always be kind.

Warmest Regards,

PAHS National Honor Society 2018
