Principal's Address

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,seal

In just a little under three weeks, we will welcome our students back to school for what will be another great year at Phoenixville Area High School.  It seems like yesterday we were just saying goodbye to the Class of 2018 and preparing for all of the summer festivities.  I hope that each of you had a wonderful summer and were able to make some lasting memories with your families.  This coming school year marks my 13h year at Phoenixville Area High School.  And while much has changed during my time here, one thing that has not changed is the energy, excitement and passion that our student body brings to the building. I cannot wait to see what they accomplish academically, athletically and socially throughout the 2018-2019 school year!

Each year the high school selects a theme that we focus on throughout the building,  This your our theme will be High Expectations, High Supports.  In the simplest terms, we expect a lot from all of our students in all phases of life during their stay at Phoenixville.  At the same time, we believe that the necessary support should be put in place to ensure that all students excel.  A focus this year will be on expecting all students to challenge themselves to be the best they can be while proving every opportunity to do so.  This year we have put several new systems in place to make this possible, including The Phantom Achievement Center (a resource room for all students to receive extra help and tutoring), a mentoring program for our incoming 9th grade class, and a major emphasis on differentiated instruction amongst our faculty.  Conversely, we want you to challenge and push yourself consistently throughout the school year and to seek out help when needed.

Especially exciting to this coming school year are some structural and design changes to the high school. In addition to a new entrance providing extra security and a much needed facelift, the building itself has six new classrooms, a color-coded classroom system and newly designed departmental layout, and some amazing artwork and creative designs throughout!  We can’t wait for you to see it when you arrive back!

We have added some new faculty members to our high school who are very excited to meet our students.  Please take the time to introduce yourself when the time permits to ensure they feel a part of their new Phantom Phamily.
